A few weeks ago the National Builders Association voted against a change in the ICC (International Construction Code) that would require residential sprinkler systems on all new construction in the United States and Canada. Their reasoning in this was the average cost of $500.00 was prohibitively expensive, despite the fact that it would save hundreds of live annually.
Today I find this little tidbit, which nearly gave me an aneurysm.
