Alaska is too small

I was getting a ride home from a friend of a friend this evening, and we got to talking about growing up in Anchorage. We discovered that we had gone to the same middle school and at that point I said "I wonder if we ever spoke to each other back then."
His reply, "I don't know... I was pretty quiet and reserved."
-Time passed, and he asked if I'd been in any music classes.-
"Why yes! I was in jazz band and orchestra. I played the bass."
"That's where I know you from! I was in jazz band, too. I used to play saxophone."
I just stared at him.
"You thinking what I'm thinking?" he asked.
"We used to DATE!?"

Turns out we had a little middle school love affair, complete with making out in the hallways and getting in trouble with the hall monitors. We'd just spent the whole evening drinking with our mutual friend who also had been in jazz band with us and we had no idea that such a torrid history existed between us. I haven't thought about this guy in years. He's grown into a good guy. If I remember correctly, which isn't much, he was kind of a creep. I dumped him over the phone on a whim. I think we dated for a grand total of two weeks.

Hilarious.
