Oh damn. Make my cry, why don't you? It feels like cancer's everywhere lately, and it is such an evil, cruel disease. :(

You did such a great job bringing Brian and Justin to life here. You filled the gaps that I've heard (haven't seen) 410 created, and yet you made them real in a way that I'm sorry to say, CL hasn't done in a long time. If we have to depend on fic authors like you to fill these gaps, I'd say the B/J world is in better hands with you than it is with so-called canon.

The overriding theme of The New Reality, especially epitomized by these two quotes...

He wants to fuck him till they both pass out, till there's nothing left for either of them but this, because this is real to Brian and he wants it to be real for Justin too. Brian's new reality consists of a scar and a blond-headed twink, and that's just fine by him.

and

Justin gets up to clear the plates and trails a hand through Brian's hair on his way to the kitchen. "Love you," he says casually, and busies himself at the sink.

Michael tilts his head. "Does he say that a lot now?"

Brian drains his wineglass and looks over his shoulder at the boy doing dishes. "Yeah," he tells Michael. "That's pretty normal."

...are gorgeous. Simply beautifully done and heart-wrenchingly lovely. These are our Brian and Justin. CL should take notes.

In this case, my timeliness was a fluke (my computer died and I'm using a friend's - see my LJ for more details) since I happened to be online when you posted it, but anyway... it's a great fic. Really touching and very emotionally aware. Amazing work. :D
