Mystic Seaport's Sea Music Festival
Friday - Sunday, June 13-15, 2008 / 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. plus evening concerts
Mystic Seaport is proud to host its 29th Annual Sea Music Festival, one of the world’s premier sea music events. More than 5,000 people gather each year to hear a solid core of performers carry on classic musical traditions of the Golden Age of Sail. We have featured music from maritime cultures around the world, including the United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal, Australia, Iceland, Poland, Netherlands, France, Canada and Africa, as well as native peoples within the United States.
The 29th annual Music of the Sea Symposium is Saturday, June 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Greenmanville Church.

A dynamic quartet featuring remarkable instrumentals.
Bob Webb - Phippsburg, ME
A banjo wizard known as the "King of Chanteys."
Bob Zentz - Norfolk, VA
A multi-instrumentalist singer of songs old and new.
Calico Jack - MD
A group performing contemporary and traditional music of the Chesapeake.
Charlie Ipcar - Richmond, ME
A performer of contemporary and traditional sea music and shanties.
Cliff Haslam - Madison, CT
An icon of the Connecticut sea music scene.
Danny O'Flaherty - New Orleans, LA
A traditional Celtic balladeer.
Danny & Joyce McLeod - Newcastle, UK
Geordie singers and C. Fox Smith scholars.
Finest Kind - Ottawa, Canada
Featuring Ian Robb, Shelly Posen and Ann Downey.
George Ward - Rexford, NY
Regional folklorist specializing in the musical traditions of rural New York and the Northeast..
Hand in Hand - Northampton, MA
