US troops have entered Fallujah and have begun the siege of the muslim stonghold taken back by the insurgents months ago. in all the confusion, i can only pose one solid question: who gives a flying fuck? why are soldiers lives being sacrificed for a cause that does not concern us? theres really no point in arguing about it now. i feel so naive yelling about obvious things like the failure of the US government and the redundancy of its recent military operations, but its hard to keep it in sometimes. i know people are getting slaughtered over in the desert sands, people i will never meet, but people nontheless and i cant help but wonder why its not me over there as a muslim extremist. why am i the working class white kid who sits comfortably in his mt. airy home while his country ruins the world for him? one man cannot make a difference, unless you lived before our time, when that was possbile, but now, in our society, we have lost our individuality and our passion. nobody stands up for what they believe in anymore. everyone will just accept the norm and move on with their lives, but what if that norm isnt the way we should be living? what if a veil has been thrown over our eyes to shield us from some kind of terrible truth? something happened to the american people and its not good. nobody will question the government anymore and the people who do are teenage, angst-ridden, safety pin-pierced, semi-goths who get all their information from anti-flag and rage against the machine. sorry kids but you gotta hit the books. it also doesnt help that george bush has been re-elected, even though EVERYBODY knew it was gonna happen. its just so sad. nobody will ever admit the 2000 election was rigged, which just goes to show you who is running the country and who is setting the examples. because douchebag politcians who only see the people as flesh-covered stepping stones and absorbent human sponges are ruling this country with an iron fist, our generation will never have any role model, anyone to idolize or anybody to put their faith into. its sad. we live in such a fucked up and turbulent era, yet we still live on and as long as dubyah and his gang stay outta my way, i see no need for a change.
