I thought about calling you when I got off the plane
Every time I see the city through the clouds, I get that way
Call me crazy for missing you like this
But I do.
I would update in ecstacy about all the wonderful things happening in my life...And there are wonderful things happening.
But for the past 5 working days I have gone to the office at 9 AM and walked home at 8 PM, microwaved chicken nuggets, and DIED, still wearing my painful brown heels.
And because I work till 8 PM I have no chance to get over to the student technology office to get my connection for GWU internet. Which means my internet use, since my computer was resurrected from the dead by CompUSA on Sunday, is limited to a few quick snatches while I eat lunch at my desk at work, and the free Starbucks wireless that I am presently milking for all it is worth.
So much for spending my evenings enjoying the city with new intern friends. The executive director/my boss graduated from college two weeks ago and works 80-hour weeks. She works us HARD. Within, literally, my first two hours of employment, I was crashing a Democratic rally and asking Barack Obama's wife about his position on Social Security reform. I kid you not. I nearly died. She's really tall. REALLY tall.
Dad says that if you love what you do it'll never feel like work. I spent eleven hours in the office today. I came home hungry and tired and to any normal person it sounds like a BLOODY MISERABLE day. I've never had more fun in my whole life.
Go here to see what I'm doing.
