Not Really a Star Trek Spoiler
I saw the new Star Trek last night, and I really liked it. This is coming from someone who was a fan of the the original series, then a fan of Next Gen, and so on. The acting was superb, and I like the way Abrams managed to make it an homage to the whole genre and still make it his own.
There is just one thing I fail to understand, however. ("Just one?" I hear you say.) How in the hell is a twelve-year-old Kirk going to instantly take to two-hundred-year old rock music? That would be like a kid today turning on music that used pipe organs and harpsichords and totally jamming out to it. But we all know Kirk is special, I guess.
Anyway, good flick. Go see it. I saw it in digital, but I bet the regular showings are just as good.
