Pearl Harbor Anniversary tomorrow

Dec 06, 2005 17:21

So tomorrow marks the historic day when the United States was attacked by Japan at Pearl Harbor. To say the least it caught the troops completely off guard and over 2,000 alone died in that attack. Funny thing is people are complaining just cause 2,000 people have died in Iraq I hate how politicians are making such a big fuss out of this. Anyhow it ( Read more... )

just 2,000? 2,000 people is 2,000 people...no matter how long they take to die.

2,000 people is not really that many people if you think about it. I mean im sure that there are more than 2,000 people that die each year from heart attacks in the US and you don't see people complaining about that.

a heart attack is different from murder.

and 2,000 people isn't much?! that's 2,000 sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, friends. families and communities ripped apart by loss. imagine it being one of your relatives. i bet you'd feel differently. it's true that everyone must die at some point. but murder is needless death. surely you can see that.

Well still 2,000 isn't a lot compared to other things. I mean yeah sure people have died serving in Iraq but they shouldn't complain about it because it was their choice to join up and serve in Iraq. Plus if you think 2,000 soldiers is a lot what about the 50000+ that died in a flash of light when the US dropped Little Boy on Hiroshima not to mention the many others that suffered from the radiation. Plus that was a purely civilian target.

ohh, i agree. hiroshima and nagasaki were the worst tragedies in human history, in my opinion. from my remarks, i'm obviously a pacifist. i just don't think anyone should have to die for politics, period. the only exception i see was the united states' involvement in WWII. they were asking for our help. but in my opinion, 2,000 people have died in iraq for no good reason. that's why i have a problem with it.

That is where I must agree. The war in Iraq is quite pointless.
