So there I was, all set to post about posting about nothing, when the computer announces it's tired and doesn't want to play anymore. I'm killing time at the theatre in Moorpark. I'm pretty bored. They're dancing on stage right now. It's really looking like I'm not going to be doing any actual stage management until the second week of September. I mean, I balanced my checkbook before I decided to post. That's boredom. Responsible boredom, but still just boredom.
Here's a thing from REDCAT's site about
What To Wear, that avant-garde opera I've been working on up at CalArts. And better yet, here's an
interview of Richard by Eric Bogosian that includes a video clip of another of Richard's shows. You can see some Dwarfs!.... Um, Richard uses a non-speaking chorus in most of his shows, who, somewhere in the last 40 years, came to be known as the Dwarfs. Not dwarves, which is probably the correct pluralization of dwarf, but Richard doesn't say "dwarves," he says "dwarfs," and the one sure-fire thing I've learned is that you do what Richard wants. It may sound crazy when he askes for something, but he's still probably right.
I've now hung all of my art at the new apartment. I'm loving this place more and more. It's totally awkward, but I'm figuring out how that'll work now. I really like how my things are fitting in the new place.
There ya go. I've killed fifteen minutes and now rehearsal is over, tra la dum dee day.
