all these words, words, words

Borrowed quite politely from bj_shipper: Put your MP3 player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs. Post the poem that results. The first line of the twenty-first is the title. I skipped the songs with no words and the tracks that are just spoken, with no music.

I Saw Her There Fade From Afar

Now as the summer fades, I let you slip away
A railway station on a long-forgotten line
If I could, I would do all of this again
I like pleasure spiked with pain and music is my aeroplane
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
A slow strangle with your feet on the floor
Christ, you know I love you
I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
A used pink bathrobe
This is for all you girls about thirteen
Here I am, this is me
Oh, I wish you could meet my girlfriend
I'm on my way from misery to happiness today
Becky was a beauty from south Alabama
Now when I was a young girl, my dad warned me about the opposite sex
Never met a man quite like you
You never change your mind once it's made up
Well, we're living here in Allentown
I'm outta time, and all I got is four minutes
The more you see the less you know
----------------------------------------------
And now I'm curious to see what would happen with songs all by the same group or of the same genre.... All Bruce Springsteen songs:

I Woke Up This Morning

It's a fairytale so tragic there's no prince to break the spell
Can't see nothing in front of me
The speculators made their money on the blood you shed
Born down in a dead man's town

(okay, that was the only part that actually worked, imo)

And in other and MOAR IMPORTANT news, iconseeyou has made her holiday icons post! Go check 'em out. I was super stoked when I saw that the one I suggested - All I want for Christmas is for Jack to stop crying - is one of the teaser icons. :D

Ciao, y'all.
