i woke up this afternoon at 2 and was all groggy. plus i could barely open my eyes with my eyelids glued shut with gunk. (a result of suspected eye infection from wearing contact lenses. must make a mental note to see a doc soon if it doesn't get better) i actually meant to get up early this morning to have breakfast and do my readings. but then, i overlooked the fact that all those late nights were going to catch up on me eventually, hence waking up at 2 with eyes glued shut.
just as my right toe was getting better, i sprained my left ankle on monday night while walking at through the bus interchange to catch the bus home. people have been asking me how the heck did that happen. quite frankly, on top of all the discomfort and the inconvenience, i'm incredulous myself. i guess i just missed a step in the process of placing my foot on the pavement and fell over while twisting my ankle in the process. it hurt so bad i couldn't move for a while and this lady had to help me up after she picked up my stuff for me. and that's not before i heard a loud crack coming from my left foot.
when the swelling developed into this big green lump, i was so afraid i'd broken something and thereafter confined to an ugly cast and even uglier crutches for the next few months. my dad took me to nuh for an x-ray at the a&e department. thank God nothing was broken. after hours of waiting around in a wheel chair and a cup of vending-machine coffee later, we finally got home at 2.30am on monday night. i ended sleeping at 4 and waking up at 6.20am to go for my hrm class. yesterday was passed in a somewhat pathetic and very sleepy mode.
i am especially grateful to my dad. he never complained or showed it on his face even when he had to drive me all the way to clementi just as he got back from a meeting that ended late. not even while he waited 3 whole hours with me at the hospital, pushing me around in a wheelchair. we just chatted over instant coffee about politics in his church group, politics in his office and just politics in general. :p and the next morning, he woke up at 6 to send me to school. :)
