So long, Western Hemisphere!
It's been a long time since I posted last, which is usually the case nowadays. I keep forgetting to keep this thing up to date. At any rate, I have some exciting news! For the next nearly two weeks, I will be on tour with the UW River Falls Concert Choir - in East Asia! We'll be travelling to Beijing, leaving tomorrow and staying there till next Friday, when we'll leave for Seoul, Korea and several days of concerts around South Korea before arriving back at Minneapolis airport on Wednesday night, May 23.
It's going to be a ridiculously awesome trip. I'll be seeing the Great Wall, the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, Tienanmen Square...all stuff that I never expected to see in my lifetime, and at a very reasonable group rate too! I could never expect such a low rate on my own for such a trip... and all because one of my buddies happened to mention last month that they had an open spot for the trip. I just couldn't pass it up! There will be many pictures posted on here during and/or after the trip, and if anyone still reads this little journal of mine, I'm taking reasonable requests for souvenirs you might like me to obtain for you. Decorative fans? Other artwork? Pirated digital media? These are only a few of the options that I'll have available to me, and I'm happy to look around on your behalf while I'm on the other side of the world. Speaking for myself, I'm going to look into possibilities in the silk market, local art work, and maybe for some high-quality rice wine.
Well, now it's time to get a good night's sleep, then feverishly pack all morning. Bus leaves at 2pm!
