How am I comparing apples to oranges? Because there is a 'sexual' component in one but not the other? I believe your oranges aren't relevant to the comparison. In fact, it makes it WORSE because then it's basically screaming objectification of women.
So standing up for the rights of women means I came out of a hole? Niiiiice.
I seriously doubt that it's actual "anti-Muslim shenanigans". Even on the part of the woman that complained. She wasn't complaining because they were Muslim. She was complaining because she believed she was being treated, in her own words, "as a second class citizen". Nothing more. I suppose more conservative people would see her actions as "knee jerk" and not really thinking things through.
The news site I quoted, the government run Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, is VERY progressive. The unlikelihood of them being actually Anti-Muslim is very remote.
A news channel that some consider to be the Canadian Version of Fox News (though it is entirely unrelated) thought the woman was being an idiot for complaining to the human rights commission about this, wasting taxpayer dollars, for nothing, because she could have gone to that other salon.
..... Only one of these conflicting claims can be granted. Whichever one wins, the other will of necessity be violated ( ... )
