From the letters page of the Daily Mail:

I found this charming little gem in the letters page of yesterday's Daily Mail. It's not available online, so I have typed it up verbatim for your rage.

Warning: It concerns anorexia and eating disorders. I don't know if it could be triggering, but I'm cutting it to be safe.

Get a grip

Isn't it time self-obsessed anorexics (Letters) stopped wasting NHS time and money? This so-called disease is about control: those who 'suffer' from it demand time and attention for every crumb they eat or choose not to eat.

How interesting that when food was rationed, there was no such thing as anorexia. Why don't these self-pitying people do some form of work - help other people and be of some use in the world?

It's funny how laziness and self-obsession seem to go with anorexia, isn't it?

Because it's not like anorexia is a mental illness, and the one with the highest mortality rate (5-20% of anorexics will die from the disorder)! And it's not like the term was first established in 1873 by Sir William Gull or that one of the first case studies was between 1866 and 1870, pre-dating the start of the Second World War by over seventy years! And the "typical" anorexic personality tending to be that of a highly strung, hard-working perfectionist is a lie! They're just lazy, self-obsessed and self-pitying attention whores.

I cannot articulate how angry I am right now. I just... can't.
