Oh God. I had a HUGE argument with a quasi-friend not too long ago because she uses the word 'gay' to describe everything negative. Finally, I was just like "Dude, that's not cool, and it's pretty disrespectful to the entire LGBT community." She went off on me, saying how her homosexual friends don't care, etc etc. After arguing, I just threw my hands up and walked away.

I don't understand why people can't see that words have consequences.

Words don't have consequences /for them/. So they don't care.
