I had a thought recently. All the revolutionary musicians, the people that really touched the world, find themselves dead. Regardless of murder or suicide, whatever the reason, greats like Lennon, Hendrix, Tupac, Cobain, all of them are gone. They all had great followings, and new that what they were doing would help make this place better for all of us. Zack and RATM were on that path. Their following grew each album and concert, and on Battle of Los Angeles they were really starting to get attention from a lot of important people. Zack knew he was really reaching out to people that could relate to him.
I honestly think, if Rage were intact today, Zack or some of the others would be constantly running from people trying to prevent them from speaking the truth. They would be in fear of their life all the time.
May be kind of drastic, but that's my opinion. I'm not saying I'm happy they broke up, but that idea makes sense in my mind. Of course there were other reasons, but I think that could have been an unspoken, or not even thought of, reason why Rage Against the Machine broke up.
What's your guys opinion?
