as seen in my icon, tom did play a double guitar at some point...no idea when!! haha....
i for one LOVE audioslave and think the new album is amazing, a total departure for the boys from RATM and chris cornell...they've created something amazing.

Come on, although ya try to discredit Ya still never edit The needle, I'll thread it Radically poetic Standin' with the fury that they had in '66 And like E-Double I'm mad Still knee-deep in the system's shit
I think Tom was carrying the double header during the Evil E tour, since that was around the time that The Ghost of Tom Joad was in heavy rotation on their setlists. I think its true because from watching their dvd, the vhs for those who got the box set, the live video for that song shows him using that red double header during the song. I think he might've also used it for No Shelter, but Im not too sure.
Audioslave's first still outdoes this new one, or maybe I have to hear it a little more. Tom tho, delivers again wit the f'n awesome guitars.

i think you are right about the double guitar...i'll have to watch my dvds again.
i dunno if i like audioslave's first album more or not! initially i did, but i listened to the second one a bit obsessively and decided i like it a lot, too. i just really like the solos on the new one more than the first album.

unfortunately for me, I may have seen the end of my beloved box set vhs. since after throwing it in and watching that first song, I rewound the tape to play it again only to watch in horror as it spit out the tape wit the film mangled and twisted. Hopefully I can repair it, since I dont want to buy the dvd.
As for the second album, Ive heard it. But it seems to be lacking the songs that made the first one, well for me at least, sound even better each time I played it. But your absolutely right about the solos on the second. The drown me slowly is by far one of the closest he's done to that of Bulls on Parade in a long time but it sounds completely different, cause he then flips it to a whole different solo or riff, whatever. The first five run smooth but then Heaven's Dead and The Worm slow it down too much. It picks up again only to slow down again wit the last two.

That sounds like a massacre there. I feel your pain.
All the songs in Slave's new album you have to listen to a few times, but I dunno, I guess I like them. If I would have told myself that like a month ago, I probly woulda punched myself in the face. But the album is ok.
