Growing up, kids usually decide that they want to be things. Doctors, Vets, in the armed services, President of the United States as a few examples. But this... something is very wrong here.

In no way should children be given this choice. Usually kids this age don't know what they really want and sorry kiddos, it's true.
You are born the sex God created you to be, and you really can't change that without dire consequences! Yes, I know there are people out there that are having all sorts of plastic surgery done to themselves. The only case where it's a good idea is to fix deformities, not because you don't look perfect enough.
Or in this case, you think the all knowing Maker of the Universe made a mistake on your body.
This leads to the question, after your sex change are you automatically attracted to the sex you use to be? Or do you become 'homo-sexual' because you are attracted to the gender that carries the same chromosomes that you turned yourself into? Plus, if you want kids, you can usually forget it with stuff like this. Holding off your body's natural processes are very dangerous to your health, and stuff like this can make sure that you never have kids, either from the hormones going all out of wack or down to the nitty gritty that your body doesn't have the proper equipment.
And don't go giving me BS about that "Man who got pregnant" crap. I'm sorry. That was a woman who only had her breast removed and hormone pills that made her grow a beard. Obviously she couldn't go through the whole process that would have had her 'lady parts' removed completely.
