Summoner-in-training!Ben & Zombie!Locke go on a dungeon-crawl

First off, I apologize for the geeky title of this post.  Our cable's on-screen guide said Ben was going to 'try to summon the smoke monster', I play Final Fantasy games, which just made me think of rpgs in general... I'm sure you can put the rest together from there.  You're all just lucky this whole thing isn't written in DnD-speak!  *ahem*  Moving on...

I think my favorite scenes in just about anything ever are the conversations between enemies (the Doctor & the Master; Light & L; any combination of Sylar, HRG, & the Hunter; Zim & Dib; Dr. Doom & Reed Richards; Spider-Man & pretty much anyone; etc.), if for nothing else, for the lulzy banter that's almost guaranteed to happen, especially if they end up having to work together for some common cause.  Locke and Ben, your interactions tonight were my payoff for sitting through all the bullshit and abuse of the laws of time-travel (and possibly magic) that have been going on since the end of the 4th season of Lost.  Thank you.  Some highlights:

"Let's talk about the elephant in the room."
"I assume you're talking about the fact that I killed you."

"I'm sure the monster will understand, Ben."

(after Ben commits grand theft canoe) "Why did you shoot an unarmed man?"
"He was only unarmed because I stole his shotgun!"

Although, having the smoke monster just be a thing that shows you your memories and turns into a person you know was rather disappointing.  Bit anti-climatic after seeing all the Egyptian-death-god-looking hieroglyphs on the wall.  You see Osiris and some dragon-y thing on the door to something's 'cage' (for lack of  a better word), you expect some demonic, badass creature, not a puff of smoke and the ghost of a skinny teenage girl.  Who looked perfectly fine and alive btw, not even a bit pale.  Not saying she had to be in full Resident Evil-zombie makeup, but you could've at least messed up her hair, smudged some eyeliner under her eyes to make her look kinda like the little girl from The Ring, ABC (it's not hard).  Also, was it just me, or did Ben's flashback!hair look really fake?

p.s.  Watched that new show The Unusuals too.  Not completely sure where they're going with it (still seems to be getting its bearings), but it was interesting and fun.  Lives up to its title certainly.
