The Eleventh Hour- in which my cautious optimism appears to have paid off

Yeah, yeah, I know I said I'd post this Monday, but first off, you should be used to this from me by now. If you're not, then you haven't been paying attention. *smacks you over the head with a rolled-up newspaper* Second, I'm still a hell of a lot better at keeping a date than the Doctor is, and he doesn't even have the excuses of being distracted ( Read more... )

commentary/review/reaction, tv, wtf, squee, fangirling, f!@#ing time travel, this is made of win, lol, i'm sorry (i really am), music, doctor who, bitching, spoilers at 12 o'clock, why? why would you do that?

dont you remember that nine brought rose back 12 months after he left with her instead of 12 hours like he thought. he was never good with time. even though he is a time lord

Dude, I know that. Wouldn't be surprised if your family's cats know that. In addition to your example and everything in this episode, when Ten and Rose met Queen Victoria, he landed (is that a good word for it? He is piloting a ship after all, but the fact that it's also a time machine makes me unsure that 'landed' is the most appropriate term) a century earlier than he meant to. Also, in that 'Black Death White Life' comic I gave you a few weeks ago, I believe he's off again by a couple hundred years, although I can't remember if he's early or late. Sarah Jane and Donna could tell you that he's not great with getting exact locations right, either (wherever it was that SJ mentioned being dropped off at by Four in School Reunion, and I know you remember that Pompeii ≠ Rome). And those are just things from the new series; I'm sure his timing would look even worse if I knew enough about the classic series to start pulling examples from it. Half the time I think he just doesn't pay attention to what he's doing unless it's really, ( ... )

i liked it a lot. im already on episode 4. *grins* i dont want to say anything. itll give things away. at least as far as characters go. you wont believe what the new daleks look like. but you might have seen that episode already. amy is just absolutely fantastic. she is definitely a great companion. i bet bill nighy is going to play a bad guy.i forgot about the thing with queen victoria. oh well. i do like this new doctor though.

Then only talk about what happened in the same the same episode that I'm posting about, ya dork. ;)

I've seen some of the new Daleks, there were pictures from some promo event on the DW news page of them. Their heads looks like you could push them up and down like an accordion now... 0_o

Amy is indeed made of win (as far as up-to-episode-two goes). People say that Rose was RTD's Gary-Stu/Mary-Sue? If were in his/Steven Moffat's position, I think Amy'd be mine.

fine ill only talk about this episode:p

although i cant really say anything too bad about it. the doctor had his usual timing. still not sure about the new interior of the tardis though. the doctor is definitely a little bit more insane than ten. but i think they all have their quirks. we could always marathon the new dw when i get back.

Okay, so it's not just me with doubts about the awesomeness of the new Tardis interior? What don't you like about it? (I think it's too orange.)

I can't really place my finger on it. It just doesn't seem right. Or maybe I'm just used to the old tardis. It's probably that I'm just used to the old tardis. And if you haven't noticed that crack thing is going to be the theme for this season.

I have noticed the crack thing. I think that the new Tardis seems harsher than it was. Like, usually the Tardis was the calm place in the middle of all the insanity, but now with the lighting at least (don't know if my feelings on it would change if they used the blue-green lights again), it reminds me more of when the Master turned her into the paradox machine and the lights were all red.

What did you think of the new version of the theme song?

I thought it was good. Could pick out the primary tune that makes up every DW theme. It's a little bit more abstract, but still decent. The Font could change along with the new DW logo.

After hearing the new version of the theme about a half-dozen times, I can hear the primary tune, but I don't think it should take that many plays to tell that something is another version of a song someone knows well. Maybe it's just me on that, I dunno. Did see an article on the Daily Mail or Telegraph's (or something, can't remember) website about a bunch of people in the UK were complaining about it too though.

Still don't like the font, but the logo is slowly growing on me (very slowly) for no other reason than the fact that the 'DW' turns into the Tardis in the animation.
