So today was the first day of school at AUR. Classes seemed petty cool. I had Masterpieces of the Italian Opera first with Britty and Xtina. It seems good, the prof is way more into it than any of the students, but it should still be enjoyable. Professor Martin asked the group what kind of music everyone listens to and why they like it and this idiot fashion girl from Philly jumps up and is like MARIAH CAREY!! She rambled on about how beautiful her voice is and how big her range is and blah blah blah.... I thought britt or xtina or i was going to go put her out of her misery. Anyhow, next was Intensive Italian. Our teacher Giovanna was awesome, so energetic, and she taught the whole class in italian already which makes me think it will be good. And Courtney and Greg are in my class so we can all be bad at italian together. Last was the Rome Experience - my honors course. Turns out there are only four people in the class including me and xtina. But the first prof, Paul Gwynne seems awesome and he helped reassure us that the 40 page paper wont be completely awful. So after class I just came back to the villa and hung out. I went over to the girl' for awhile because we were planning on going to Trevi Fountain because it is supposedly amazing at night. We hopped on the number 8 tram as usual, but instead of taking 15 minutes to get to Largo Argentina, it took 45 minutes to take us to....who knows? We asked one of the bus drivers where to go and he told us to take the 14 to Termini and then get on the 64 bus into centro storico. We figured that we would be all set then. But OF COURSE it couldnt be that simple. We take the 14 all the way till the driver kicks us off and we find ourselves in supershady outskirts of Rome, near prostitues and other quality individuals. Thankfully, there is an international internet place on the corner and an employee speaks english and ends up calling a cab for us. Turns out we are WAY far from home.... like €30 from home. Yeah so getting lost in rome is not fun. I have class again today, one new one, History of Rome with Paul Gwynne again. And then Courtney and I are heading to the Todis for groceries. Ciao!
