i seem to be a magnet for bills that i don't owe. (no, really! i don't owe them!) :) today when i got home from work, there was a notice on our front door that our water will be disconnected if we don't pay a ridiculous amount of money. so i go through my file of paperwork, and i find the copy of the check that i mailed off, and then i pull up my bank statement online which shows that the check cleared three weeks ago. ...so of course this means that they've probably credited my money to someone else's account. wow. i mean, how do you even do that when i wrote the account number right on the check? and dude, bessemer utilities is so sketchy. they keep you on hold, the customer service people won't give you their names, and when you ask for a fax number, they give you a different answer every time. i've got to call one more time to make sure that they got the fax. (they had me call my bank so that they could pull up a photocopy of the front and back of my check, and then have the bank fax them.) but really, it's all good. i'll burn 45 min on the phone if it means the water isn't cut off.
anyway, things have been going well otherwise. :) i just wanted to rant about that.
in hindsight, (can i say that even though i haven't gotten confirmation that they got the fax?) that was kinda fun. in fact, if you have some time to burn sometime M-F, 8-5, call 481-4333. go ahead, knock yourself out!
