Picture of the Week Part 38: Saying Farewell

Aug 25, 2011 14:13

My time in downtown draws to a close. Once before I thought I would be leaving this place only to find out that my new job had me working only one building over from my previous one. I was excited to be able to continue working in the city. So much to get out during your lunch break and see, so many fascinating places to explore and new foods to try. After Tuesday next week I will no longer be coming downtown. I am in a kind of limbo right now emotionally. I know I will miss these guys more than anything, but I'll miss the city too. I wonder if I'll ever come back here again for a job.

Here's to group lunches, downtown beauty, State Fair parades, bomb scares, walks to Angry Dogs, crazy thunderstorms, terrible parking, the underground, Chef Wangs, Noodle Nexus, potstickers, Thanksgiving Square, the West End, the fist bump, cemetaries, scary elevators, laughter, socks as packing materials, more laughter, random bras, freebie days, trees that bloom white flowers in spring, the Adolphus, all the pigeons, the stargate, photography walks, insane deployment deadlines, River Dancing Jimmy Doan, and the people who made this place somewhere I enjoyed being.

"You guys are how I know this isn't hell."
