Something old, something new...

How is it I am now just discovering the greatness that is Craig's List. I'm seriously going to become the garage sale queen. After all, my mother was pretty good at it when we were younger.

There's something exciting about seeing other people's stuff. Especially stuff for cheaps!

Any other local Louisville grabs like this I should know about?

louisville, craigslist, garage sales

See if there's a freecycle in your area... I'm not sure where to look, so I'd start with Google. I think the one around here is a Yahoo group. And every so often, Carrboro has a "Really Free Market", where you just bring stuff you want to get rid of. And you can take stuff other people want to get rid of. It's neat!

i just learned about this freecycle phenomenon. would be a great way to get rid of my junk. although i'm really just looking to have the thrift store come pick it up from my apartment when i move. i don't actually physically want to move any of my stuff...

Yeah, I'm going to look into this freecycle business. I didn't know thrift stores could pick up your stuff. Hmm. I wonder if they charge a small fee?

i'm not sure the logistics of it, i just know one of the stores around here has a truck and does deliveries (and pick ups, i think). i don't think they charge because they get to sell the stuff...it's something i'm definitely going to look into...

Oh! Some Vietnam Vets association sends us flyers all the time, saying they'll come pick up our junk. The guy we bought the house from did it before he moved out. I wish I could remember the exact name, but definitely check it out!

especially since i'll likely be moving in with the boy, and he already has his place fully furnished and stuff...
