They did.. WHAT?!

Today I am the proud loser of nine teeth.

Yes, I am now short nine teeth. My jaw is sore, my gums are still a touch bloody, but the partial looks sharp, at least!

Blacked-out ones were replaced by the partialI'm just happy that it's finally done. I'm not happy that I woke up a couple of times during the procedure to FEEL the teeth being ganked ( Read more... )

away from work, fiending, ow!, sick, pain, teeth

Long story short:
Got braces in high school, teeth became straight and pretty.
Year after braces came off: teeth started falling out of mouth, 'cause it turns out that they were too weak to be moved.

Spent my personal money getting them refixed up, but didn't get too far into it before I joined the Air Force. Due to circumstances, I had to wait almost five years to get cracking on my dental work. Because of this, teeth that were bad rotted out other teeth, and a whole mess of them just needed to go.

My teeth, by the by, in addition to being very weak are also surrounded by super extra hyper mouth bacteria that start to dissolve sugar and therefore teeth with a gusto that ADHD children could only gape at.

So now instead of a bunch of half-rotten and broken crowns and rebuilds, I have a united front of pretty.. works for me! <3 The other three that were removed, btw, were wisdom teeth, so :D

Cheers honey, cheers, I know what you mean.

I'm just pleased I'm taking this all in good humor.. like having no ice, so having a box of frozen spinach wrapped in a spaghetti string shirt and using the strings to hold it to the side of my head to reduce the swelling :D

What all do you have to have done? I've seriously gone through almost every dental procedure known to man, and can usually give some good guidance on what's shaking :)

LOL spaghetti stinged shirt! Why didn't I think of that!?! I just hope the spinach doesn't start to smell or anything as it thaws out :s I'm glad you're taking it in good humor too. If you let yourself feel miserable then you'll never get better ( ... )

so here I am, feeling like a total pussy because I am concerned that, since that crowned lower molar seems to be twinging, that failing to have it root canaled first means I might have to go through the onerous process of getting an implant.

Although, I can practically carry on conversations while my gums are being injected with novacaine, I'm so used to the process now.

I inherited soft, groovy teeth, so I can look forward to lifelong dentistry.

(I tend to use a bag of frozen peas rather than spinach. I suppose that's merely a matter of tastes)

Actually, my friend Sheila (the one that is cheerfully carting me around town right now) also says she prefers peas. I am thinking that the texture might actually be theraputic, but I'm just using what I do have on hand! :D

And yeah, soft n' evil teeths.. bleh.

Mmmm, laughing gas... ;D

That sounds like a painful series of events though.. at least they didn't break your jaw or anything!
