Trying to hike
Early this afternoon, I was at the trailhead for Granite Mountain (One of my favorite day hikes... miles of uphill rewarded by great views and cool old fire lookout) when my SAR pager went off for this.
Every time I've tried to do the Granite Mountain hike in the last few years, something's come up that's stopped me. I have been on the trail in the last year, but... it was for a SAR mission and the subject was airlifted out from near the top before my team got all the way up. That doesn't count.
This is getting old. I want to go back to the lookout! Even though it's locked most of the time and you can't go in.
