That's killer, Rach! I'm know I have to do something to jack up my metabolism, because middle age is NOT FUN. And don't even get me started on what my ass looks like right now.

But I'm so happy for you! It's like, grown-up successes! Keep rockin' it, baby.

*giant grin* I am super excite knowing that my 45 minute goal is within reach! Also looking forward to my new-found stamina burning off more hip and thigh fat. #hips and thighs = the banes of my existence

Do you do any weight training? It's supposed to be good for metabolism boosting, or so I've heard.

I should do weight training, like seriously. My hips and thighs are my bane, too. And I'm only 5' 2"; I have no place to put the weight! Blarg.

rock on! You're kicking ass : )

Well, holy shit, I ran for 30 minutes this morning and I could have kept going!
I remember feeling similar about a month after I quit smoking (back in 2003) - I was working the heavy bag, and had been doing ten minutes-maybe fifteen, but twenty had passed and I wasn't even remotely tired. It was sooooo awesome.

Oh, well hey there, fellow former smoker! We even quit around the same era. I think I quit back in 2001...or maybe 2002. Good thing I quit when I did. I can't imagine how even more out of shape I would have been had I kept it up. @__@

HEAVY BAGS ARE GREAT! I wish I owned one.

DAYUM! 20 minutes is a looooong time. I remember being exhausted before even reaching 5 minutes. And all in between my knuckles were completely bruised.

I did several forms of martial arts for years, so passing twenty minutes was getting back to where I'd been at that point.
Don't bruise your knuckles! Wear wraps or knuckle guard gloves. Those are my favorite for practicing anyway. Great for sparring too!

I used knuckle guard gloves but still bruised. :C Sensitive artist hands, I guess.

The only martial arts classes I ever took was tai chi. I miss it. ;A; Man, I wish I had taken other marital arts classes as a kid (and as a young adult). It would have been a big help with my confidence. I'd like to take classes now, but I am so freakin poor... *sigh*

Oh well, I have a fairly good workout tape with boxing and kickboxing drills. I want to start using those again to tone my arms some more.

I'm so happy that all my old clothes fit again. I missed them so much! *happy tears*

Go, you!! Once you slip into the zone, it gets easier and easier. The hard part, of course, is getting there in the first place, but looks like you've already made that hurdle. \o/ What type of treadmill do you have?

Uhg! Curse that elusive "zone"!!! Hopefully it won't elude me any longer. I can only assume that 90% of my jogging woes were due to lugging around that extra weight. I got so used to always being 30-40 lbs overweight that it felt normal to me. *sigh*

Ummm...*checks treadmill logo* ...it's a Weslo (don't know which model). I have no idea if that's a good brand or not. I bought it second hand from a relative a looooooooong time ago.

(Ermergersh I thought I had the FIRST1!! comment on this!!)

Anyway, just wanted to say I am SUPER PROUD OF YOU waooow! I never liked the Dreadmill (and can't run very well anyway...wonky hip + flat feet + boredom)...so the idea of running for *any* amount of time is just killer. You are teh amazing

I really enjoy weight work and Pilates...I get everything from YouTube nowadays.

I really like the strength and barre workouts at JessicaSmithTV, they're well-organized, downloadable frrom YouTube with the right plugin, plus her dog is so random!!! She has a couple good cardio ones but only a couple are exertion-y enough for me.

XHit and FitSugar also have some good ones (mxied with some meh), and Cassie Ho has a few I like, too...if you ever want names/links lemme know!

ANYWAY SUPER PROUD been thinking of your accomplishment all week!!

D'awww THANKS! *glomps* That means a lot to me!

"Dreadmill"! #perfect XD

It's weird, I used to get sooooo bored on the treadmill too. I started off by watching my backlog of tv shows to help pass the time, but eventually, I didn't feel like watching tv anymore. I needed something with more pep, so I switched to my tunes and that helped me walk faster. Oddly enough, I don't mind staring off into space when I walk/jog now. I workout first thing in the morning, so my brain is still kind of in dream mode anyway.

HOLY JEEBUS! I never even thought of YouTube as a good source for workouts! THANK YOU! I will look those up, because I will need a change every once in awhile.

Also, I miss Pilates and I need to get back into it. I was doing so well a few years ago but then shit happened and I got lazy. ;A; Oh well, one thing at a time. I'm on a roll, so it'll all fall into place at some point.
