DECEMBER ART SPAM!

Well kids, we survived the apocalypse! *high fives all 'round* XD

Art-wise, December was a healthy mixture of commissions and crack, so let's get that out of the way before we delve into the nitty gritty of my 2012 goals list.

On the commissions side we have:

'Roadside Break'
Commissioned by the lovelies FallOutBlue and gypsywoman1.

AND...

'Casperia'
Acrylic paint on 30" x 22.5" canvas.

I'm also still colouring for Advent Comics and I'm nearly done my second full book! *squeeing so hard* My first full book is here in case anyone is interested. Previous to 'Titan #1', I was one of several colourists for large anthology-style volumes.

Now, for the crackier side of this month:

'Odin All-Retiree'
This stupid drawing just makes me so damn happy! It was worth joining Tumblr if for no other reason than it inspired me to draw this. The actual Tumblr post is here...I will never not laugh at Space Florida. XD

Annnnnd one last quick doodle I whipped up the other night:

'#013/100'
Crayon on sketchbook paper.

The 100 Things challenge rages on! I'm sure everyone else in that community finished their challenges months ago... *facepalm*

As for my 2012 goals list, the list was pretty short compared to last year's and good thing too because I failed at most of it. *gross sobbing*

- Do pilates every day. FAIL (This plan got derailed pretty fast due to health problems. I did, however, manage to do it 3-4 times a week until around May when I quit Pilates in favour of jogging outdoors. I really should have been doing both though. *sigh*)
- Do a 30 minute workout (cardio and/or weight training) at least three times a week in addition to the daily Pilates workout. PARTIAL WIN (As mentioned before, I bailed on the Pilates but I did workout regularly...unfortunately, none of that helped me lose the extra 35 lbs that's been a part of my life since my pre-teens. #Forever Rotund)
- Make fan art of female characters. FAIL (I only made two fan arts featuring female characters for the ENTIRE year.)
- Give makeovers to older OC arts. PARTIAL WIN (I drew a few environments but I did ZERO character work.)
- Draw action-y and foreshortened poses. FAIL (LAWL, nope, not even close!)
- Write more often. Write at least three sentences for a story every day, regardless of whether they get included in the final product. FAIL (Guys, I couldn't even write three sentences a day! I dunno, writing wasn't exactly a major life-goal, I just thought it might be good for me to try another creative outlet besides drawing. *shrug*)
- Win a contest. WIN x 2 (I won that 'Draw Tom Ripley' contest at the beginning of the year. My winnings were a crap-ton of DA points which I used to renew my subscription at Deviant Art and also buy a few subbies for others. <3 I also won that Supernatural episode-themed contest! I finally got my hands on the coveted "Samulet". *mwa hah hah*)

And here are some carry-overs from 2011 that I still haven't achieved:

- Sell a painting for $1000. FAIL (I barely did any acrylic painting this year.)
- Create a fully rendered OC comic page. FAIL (Gawd, I was really hoping 2012 would be the year for this...but once again NO.)
- Get a decent paying art job. FAIL
- Fill a small sketch book. FAIL

I suppose the good news is: with all those fails I already know what to put on my 2013 goals list...AMIRITE?! XD

Anyhoo, I hope you guys were more successful with your goals than I was. Here's to renewed energy and optimism in 2013!

Latahs alligatahs!
