Snape vs. Twilight

In my constant, never ending battle against Twilight, I'm often joined by such good Slytherins as Professor Severus Snape. This just confirms my belief in him as a hero. Swiped off FB & I'd thought I share with my fellow Snapers.

Meh, I'm not offended, as this is a joke.

Some of my best friends are Twilight fans. I'm also best friends with Boston Red Sox fans, which as a NY Yankees fan, can be an intense bit of rivalry. So the HP-Twilight rivalry, as far as I'm concerned, should be taken in fun. ;^)

I've read the Twilight book. The only reason why I read the book was because of my friend, who gave me the book. I knew that she wanted me to read it. She'd been hopping around in excitement for me to read it. So I read it and I finished it. I was not impressed by Stephanie Meyer's writing. There is an immense gulf between Rowling's ability to write and Meyer's ability to write. Rowling wrote a children's series that had the strength to pull in adults from all walks of life. Meyer's series seems to be geared toward teen girls. Thus far, most of the people that I've met who love Twilight are women, and my male friends (both straight and gay) don't seem to be interested in it (but that may just be my male friends). I'm not impressed by heroine as she seems to be only able to exist as long as Edward is in her life. But some of my friends, who, like me, hold PhDs, love the book to death, and, I suppose, it is an excellent source of escapism, so whatever floats one's boat.

I didn't comment on Pattison's acting ability, as I haven't really seen him in anything other than HP. I do want to see Water for Elephants because there are actors that I like in that movie and I would like to see more of their stuff (the man who played in Inglorious Basterds).

No I never said you said anything about his acting ability, but many people do and I was stating my opinion on the matter. Because every time Twilight is mentioned someone mentions Robert and I'm preparing to kill them if they so much as utter a word against him. LOL!

WFE is absoultley amazing. A perfect drama! Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz along with Robert make the perfect team. :D
