Well, there goes the day.

Now I've missed work today after some lady rear-ends me coming out of The Pines. No damage whatsoever. I took pictures of both cars, not a single scratch on either. (But there was part of her bumper fucked up and I wanted proof that it wasn't anywhere near where she hit me. We took down information (just name, number and name of insurance provider) anyway, just in case.

I was pulling out with no one behind me, all the lanes clear, two cars waiting to turn right off of Munger and one guy about two car-lengths back from the stop sign. The guy who should have stopped instead decided to roll the stop sign and sail across all five lanes. I stopped to avoid him, but then I wasn't clear to get across any longer because he also stopped (despite not reacting quick enough such that we would have hit if I kept going) then drove slowly across. There was a car coming in my lane, so I checked behind me and let off the break, rolled back into my spot and she drove up behind me (probably not realizing I had backed up) and hit me. It was gentle because she was braking and going slow, but still. It was my first traffic incident. T_T My perfect record is flawed and she wasn't even talking on a cell phone! Worst of all, I was in a good, motivated mood today and now I'm pissed off and my attendance at work is going to suck since I (and my entire shift, 10 or so other people) was just late to work the other day thanks to a semi off the road on I-94 Eastbound right before the Zeeb Rd. exit.

She had the nerve to lecture me that the other guy had the right of way, when she didn't see what happened before she drove into me. Yeah, if he had obeyed the stop sign he would have. I know why he did, too. It's a total bitch to get across that intersection and he saw the opening and took it. If I hadn't reacted quickly, me and that guy would have been yet another accident there. They really need a light. How shitty is that? I react fast and prevent a head on collision only to have someone who's not paying attention run into me.

wtf, driving, car, accident
