I finally managed to take a decent self-portrait with my DSLR. That mofo is heavier than my point and shoots, and I have tiny, fragile little wrists - so you can see the issue right there. This is by far the best self-port I've taken since I started with my Canon, and that includes all the ones I took using a tripod and remote timer. So, very happy. =) See two more on either DeviantART or Flickr. I'll probably upload them to Facebook later...if I can be bothered.
So, updates. See that funny little white squiggle in the bottom right-hand corner of the photo? Yes? Well, it says "Rae" in my crap-tastic hand writing. Alright, I don't really write like that. But that looked cooler than my usual scrawl, so I used it. The reason for telling you this? I have a new graphics tablet. I say new 'cause I've had one for a while - it was pretty big, but it was a crap brand that I got from a cheap supermarket, and the damn thing wouldn't work in my Photoshop. So I spoke to Bailey (who is a fantastic digital drawer, by the way - check out her dA
here) and she recommended the only proper brand of tablet I've ever heard of - Wacom. I found a place close by who sold them, and got my mother to take me there when we went dress shopping on Thursday night (the dress being for a Masquerade!! themed party I'm going to next week).
To cut things short, I'm now the proud owner of a Wacom Bamboo. Just Bamboo. Not Bamboo Fun. Just Bamboo. It's very small (just over 5'x3' in terms of the pen-active area) but it works for now. If I get into the more professionally photography areas and I actually have the large amount of money that I would need for one of the bigger tablets, I'll get one. But for now, I am content. =) It was an early birthday present, and I love it. So thanks, Mum!!
I'm still hooked on Taylor Swift, though I haven't played guitar in a while. I really need to do that.
Anyway. Who remembers my brief period of blogging with WordPress? Well, I'm still playing with different blog sites. I didn't like WP because I couldn't change my layout a whole lot, but LJ just has too many ads. And so at the moment I'm on Blogspot. And so far, so good. I can design and code a whole lot (I've recently started teaching myself CSS, so coding is fun to play around with) and there's no ads!! Plus, I can get rid of that ugly site bar at the top of the page. So to view my new (and hopefully here to stay) blog, go
here. As always, I'll probably come back here every now and then. I always do, don't I? =P
How's everybody going?!
