it's about time I update this thing
I can't believe that 6 months ago today my little girl was born. She is growing so fast I can hardly keep up. She changes so much every day just when you get used to something that she is doing bam there is something else new. She started clicking her tounge yesterday and now she is doing it ALL THE TIME...either that or raspberries, which she does with lots of energy and drool. She has 2 teeth and I have a feeling we will be seeing number 3 pretty soon. I swear that girl is going to crawl any second now. She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks but as soon as a knee or a hand lifts off the floor she slides back down on her tummy. She is so close to being way too mobile. Time to baby proof better! She has discovered the cat and loves to grab on to her ears and give her big sloppy kisses...which I try to prevent but sadly can't be in 2 places at once...which is why I came into the room the other day to see Shaylin with a mouth full of cat and Dakota with a very pained look on her face begging me to get the little monster off of her. She is so good tho she never bites or scratches Shaylin she just waits till she's done then runs away.
We gave Shaylin her very first rice cereal today. It was a bit of a milestone that was kind of hard for me. Up until now I was her only source of nourishment and it's hard to let that go. Tho it is pretty cute the way she opens her mouth really big when she sees the spoon but as soon as it touches her lips she slams her mouth shut and kind of licks at the cereal till she slurps it all up. She will learn in time to do the spoon thing and I will learn to let her grow up.
I'm taking Shaylin to the doctor in the morning for her 6 month check up. Justin has to work out of the area tomorrow so my mom will be going with me instead. I like to have someone with me when Shaylin gets shots so that I can just worry about her and not have to upset her anymore that she already will be. She does surprisingly well with shots so far tho...each time she has had them she gets pretty pissed off at the third one but is calmed down as soon as I pick her up. What a good girl I have.
Must look thru boxes tomorrow to find a CD for a friend to borrow...she's coming by around 5:30 so I have plenty of time. Laundry is also on my list...must catch back up and make sure We all have something to wear for pictures on Saturday.
It's amazing how time just keeps on going weather you are ready for it or not. I have a picture on my desk of me with my mom and dad on my wedding day. It's an awesome picture but kind of weird at the same time. Seeing the 3 of us in the same picture seems like I should be a young child but there I am all grown up and a wife...and now a mother. How can this be, I still feel like I did when I was 17, or 7. I look at that picture and think of what a great day that was. Where would I be without that day...and I am thankful for all I have and for everyone in my life. I have to go kiss my daughter.
