Part Seven
The music was pumping through my veins, but I was hardly paying attention to what I was singing. I was on auto-pilot. All I could think about was Anthony’s lips on mine and then the look on his face when he heard me say those words. Those stupid, mean words that hurt him so much… It hit me. I love Anthony. I had only known him for less than a day and already I loved him. Somewhere in those hours I surrendered myself to him.
My concert went by in a blur. I don’t even remember singing half of the songs that I did. I just wanted off that stage. I needed to find him and beg for him to forgive me. I might be a superstar but I am still human.
After the final encore I rushed off stage.
“Great Show, Buddy.” Aidan was trying to pretend that the fight earlier hadn’t happened.
“Okay let’s get you on the bus and off to the next town!”
“No.” My voice was calm now, but there was a tone of finality.
“I need to go find Anthony.”
“But I thought that you didn’t love him?”
“Well. I lied. Bye.”
“How will you get to the stop?”
“I’ll take my car and drive.”
I ran to my dressing room and grabbed my wallet, keys, and cell phone. Before anyone could stop me, I ran to my car that I insisted traveled with us and sped away.
I had no idea where Anthony would be. In fact there was only one place I even knew to look for him.
I pulled up outside of the bar and practically ran to the front of the line.
“Sorry, Mr. Hecox, you are not allowed in the bar.”
“Excuse me? What?!”
“I have a request from Anthony that should you show up, you are not allowed to be let in.”
“Okay, well you have a choice to make you can let me in and everything will be fine, or you can refuse me entrance and I will make sure that this place is out of business in 6 months or less. Do you want to lose your job and make your friends lose theirs?”
Okay, so I was being a bitch. But damn it I was getting in there one way or another.
After a moment he moved aside.
“Enjoy your time here…”
“Thanks.”
I stepped inside. I felt people’s eyes on me, but I didn’t give a shit. I just needed Anthony.
I scanned the place and saw him in his booth. He wasn’t alone. He was wrapped around some other guy. He looked like he was trying to suck the other man’s face off. There was no way Anthony got over me that fast. He was mine.
I walked over to the booth and tap the random on the shoulder.
“Hey, I think it’s time that you leave. You have three seconds.”
“No, I want you to stay. You shouldn’t listen to him.” Anthony’s eyes held anger and pride and hurt. There was no way he was going to be able to just forgive me.
“Oh yeah? If you want him to stay so much, tell me what is his name?”
All of the fight went out of his eyes.
“Ian, this is uh…um…Chris?”
“My name is Nick! Are you telling me that I’m some rebound? Nope. Nicholas Renaldo Ricardo is no man’s rebound!”
He stood up from the table and stormed away. Anthony crossed his arms and looked down. I repressed the urge to giggle. He seriously looked like a five year old who didn’t get his way.
I sat down in Nick’s now vacant seat. I leaned in and pressed my lips to his ears.
“You’re mine. You don’t belong to anyone but me.”
I started to kiss down his neck. I heard that click of a camera shutter but zero fucks were given. I felt Anthony begin to melt under my kisses. He turned and our lips met. He knotted his hands into my hair and pulled. I trailed my tongue along his lower lip. He let me in.
I pulled back. The way we were going was not suitable public behavior. I jerked my head toward the door. Anthony smiled at me. We stood up and left the bar.
As we walked outside I reached over and took his hand in mine.
