Music Night

I... am tired.

But I'm tired for a good reason.

last_bastion and I went up to Boulder last night and saw Papa Mali playing Grateful Dead tunes with the Grateful Dead drummer.

Really... we've never listened to the Grateful Dead. But we love Papa Mali, who we discovered while we lived in Austin. Since the good Papa doesn't really make it often out of the Louisiana/Texas area, we lept at the chance knowledge that he was going to be playing _anything_ in Colorado.

(If you want to know why we like the Papa... check this link and look for his tunes... http://www.papamali.com/)

The evening had several fun things associated with it.

*Music. Now I know why the Grateful Dead inspired so much pot smoking... the music was good and fun and I was swaying along with it most of the time.
*Dancing. I didn't realize that Goth dancing apparently started with this kind of music. I say this as the dancing that I saw was reminding me of first time I went to a Goth club.
*New music. Michigan blue grass group... I don't normally like blue grass, but this group was definitely fun.
*People watching. *smiles* People are fun. 'Nuff said.
*Doing something that we knew was going to leave us dead tired the next day. *smiles* Sometimes, its good to do something not prudent... just because. Tain't living life otherwise.

On the thoughtful side, I wonder what its like for the drummer... having played stadiums... now playing smaller clubs. He looked like he was having a blast, though.

So yeah... it was fun.

Raen.
