Overall, its been a good weekend. *smiles* There was some stupidity at a couple of points... but those mostly involved people who don't realize that a game is a game and people who shouldn't have drivers licenses.
On the up side...
Friday off. Rocks.
Seeing
black_king and listening to him and
last_bastion ramble at length about Buddhism.
Eggs. Fried. For breakfast.
Experimental marshmellow treats made with sugar smacks...
last_bastion didn't like them, but I thought they were pretty tasty. Then again, I'll go for anything that's sweet and not ice cream at this point.
Gaming. And another great gaming story to be added to the arsenal, as well as just hanging out.
Easter lunch with friends...
... and eggs. Deviled.
*smiles* Some things, of course, deserve their own commentary.
I have been witness to many things that were just awesome before in my gaming lifetime.
last_bastion, however, got one of the best this weekend. He plays D&D largely because I like D&D... bless his heart... and he's willing to put up with a few hours of it or so every other week for my benefit. On the other hand, he is a top quality roleplayer and any game that he plays in benefits from this fact. This week, our gaming group got to watch while he puzzled out new and interesting ways to use the powers at his disposal as usual... but we also got to watch with an added kick how he'll attempt what other players often wouldn't. In this case, with his sorceror cleric elf, taking a thirty story fall putting the whole of his weight against the long sword in his possession into the body of a blue slaad.
He rolled a 20. Confirmed the hit. We pulled out the crit chart and the slaad lost an eye... at which point the DM declared that loosing an eye wasn't enough for that blow. The slaad's grey matter ended up all over the pavement of a Sigil backalley. Elithar, however, also failed his dexterity roll... and thus cracked his sword in half after he banged his jaw into the hilt and lost half of his hit points as well.
Best visual scene I've been privaleged enough to watch in a long time. Totally fucking awesome. The rest of the group agreed so wholeheartedly that we talked the DM... who really required no talking... to make a special exception to the rule that a sorceror/cleric shouldn't be able to use a 'short sword' so that Elithar can continue to use the broken sword he created while killing a blue slaad.
Have I mentioned that there were five slaads all together? And there were three level 5 characters involved in this scene?
Yeah... it was a moment that good gaming is made of.
On the weight front, I've come to the conclusion that I've lost as much weight as I want to and am not attempting to stabalize. At 127, I'm getting to the point where I can see my ribs more clearly beneath my skin than I like. 130 seems to be a good weight for me... and I can tone from there and be happy.
Yay! Go me! Weight happiness achieved... and now I get to eat a little more.
*smiles* Finally,
last_bastion and I are going to start a date night thing once a week. This makes me happy in ways I can't express. *smiles* Its a warm fuzzy.
Anyway... that's all for this current moment in life. Hope you enjoyed this view into Raen's world. Now back to your regularly schedualed programming...
Raen.
