OH BOY CONGRATS! :D Nursing is something I could never be good at, so I am impressed. I'm sure you will do great. And I can see how that would put Sims on the backburner understandably. I've pretty much only popped onto LJ again because it's summertime so I'm out of school, lol.

As far as I can tell, tumblr legacy posts tend to be a lot shorter and are more about highlights of their important life events? It's been a while since I've been on the simblr side of things. You could always hide most of your images and commentary behind a cut if you plan on making longer posts. That way people won't end up with a really long post on their dash and they can just open it if they want to read it.

Thank you!! :D Yeah, from the few TS2 legacy things I see on tumblr, it's just short little bites of whatever the family is doing. I know there's like... an actual page thing you can create on tumblr so you can have an LJ-style update and put captions under pictures, right? And you can cut to that? Mostly I've seen photo(?) posts where all the pictures are grouped together and then the commentary is in one block.

Sorry for the late reply. But yes, you can put things under a cut if it's long. Not sure about a page on your tumblr blog, but you can probably just make a post with a cut so as not to overload people's dashes. I'm sure you've gotten more helpful advice by now. xD I mostly just used my simblr to post photos and links to my LJ sim updates.

I got my start on tumblr and I essentially post whatever I want. You can do full legacy updates or you can make a couple of posts as you play. Whichever suits you. I usually post my TS2 stuff there and then post a full update here when I remember. It's much easier to post than it sounds and you can schedule posts in your queue to post over time when you do have a bunch of pictures that you've taken. Ohhh, okay! And you can just queue with Xkit, right? Thanks so much for the answers, I feel like an old fogey asking this stuff haha!

Xkit is just an extra add on you don't need it but it definitely helps. The queue comes with tumblr as a whole :)

Congratulations! As for Tumblr, I find it's fine for posting groups of pictures with a short blurb, but doesn't work for the LJ style of a caption for every photo. And of course, people will see things in reverse order as new posts appear at the top of the dashboard, so if you post a bunch at once, they may not make sense. That does make it a good place for casual posts though.

Thank you! 8D Ohh, that's right huh... trying to easily read past posts is something I've had trouble with before. Chronological links and meticulous tagging is probably the way to go then!

If you want to, say, link to your on tumblr legacy and have it shown chronologically on your tumblr (not the dashboard), you'd have to make a new page (under blog customization), enter the url (eg.: raemia.tumblr.com/tagged/legacy - and add '/chrono' afterwards - then when someone clicks on your legacy, they'd see your first post - or master post - first. :)
