(no subject)
I'm starting to get really excited now. I packed my clothes and my husbands clothes. My kids have begun packing. We have a 17 hour drive ahead of us in a mini van. With our dog.....sad thing, he behaves better than they do on trips..lol.
We'll walk our land after church on Sunday to see how it's developed over the last year. My mother in law was kind enough to deed 9 acres to my husband. 9 acres of beautiful rolling mountain land. Last summer we chose where the developer was to "flatten" our property so we will be able to put up a house. When you look over the mountain side, you have a clear view of the valley below. It's soooo beautiful. I planted some bulbs last year, and they bloomed already, but I will be able to see where they've grown. Seed was sprayed and grass has grown, and our driveway was loaded with gray rocks from a nearby quarry. A nice walking trail was completed also last summer. We'll have to trim it back some this year, unless my inlaws have been using it. At the very top of the trail my husband plans on building a gazeebo (sp?). This will be perched above our house also to overlook the valley.
Once we get down there I want to hit Home Depot so I can buy some day lily bulbs. I think I want them to grow on the hill behind our home. It'll be nice to look out the window and see varies shades of reds,oranges and yellows. Lilies are my favorite. :) Can't have too many.
We always "house" hunt when we go down there. We go to various modular home sites and look around so we can have a better idea of what we'll choose. This time will be a bit different. I have a particular home I want to see. I've been looking at the floor plans on the internet for a while now. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, dining, living room, family room and utility room. Maybe we'll put down a deposit...
Happy and sad all rolled into one. I love my friends, have gotten really close to some and will hate to leave them. Just have to force them to vacation with me in the south I guess...lol
