News:
- New comp bought. Just got notification it's been shipped. I'm thrilled about this because I have never felt so unproductive in my life as in this past week+ without a comp.
- Job search ... No, I have no news on that. But if ppl know of jobs in the DC area that are just waiting for a college graduate to scoop them up... (I've decided networking is worse than job searches...talk about lots of energy extended for sometimes minimal returns...still, probably more will be gotten out of it than solely job searches...damn this day and age...)
- Friends and Family: Fam. is the same ole, same ole, although my younger bro moved down to NC to live with my older bro a couple of weeks ago. It's gonna be weird not seeing him much anymore.
Friends, well, life goes on. Mandi and I were having a good laugh at our inability to get our butts out the door yesterday evening to go salsa dancing. We had to tell ourselves all the things we have accomplished (she sent me a brilliant e-mail) in order to make ourselves feel better...but they were NOT justifications, no no!
Planning normal V-day boycotting-ness with cafe peeps this time 'round. Steph, Sherrita, Clare, etc. Plans still unfolding...maybe, though, I'll find a way to make Blake see the light and he'll ask me to be his Valentine. From strangers to Valentines in 2 days! I can do it! (Ah-hahahahahahahahahahaha...I crack myself up.) [Side Note: Blake, if I haven't mentioned him before, is the hot guy who comes into our dining hall everyday for lunch.] Stephanie seems convinced something is going to conspire against her, and that we will all have Valentines before Thursday. We all know better. :P
It's FUCKING COLD! Not just outside but inside. The Fish Bowl isn't even warm, and it's one place of guaranteed warmth during the winter!! (Must be 'cause it's morning and all the comps haven't been running that long). Outside is just a horror...I'm trying to decide what to even think about it. Running back and forth from classes will NOT be enjoyable. (Hence why I came to the Fish Bowl after my Stats exam in a FRIGID Angell Aud. instead of trekking on to EQ directly.) Do I still have fingers???
Last thought. Why can't the world go back to how it was when we were kids. Life was simple. You knew who your friends were, you already had it planned out who you were going to sit with at lunch, in the early grades Lisa Frank stickers and Fruit Roll-Ups were all it took to be cool, and later you just had to be picked before the last person when they formed flagball teams. The hardest part of your life was having a "crush", and that was easily solved by writing a note ("Circle Yes or No") or sending your best friend to probe emotional statuses. Yeah, you had acne, braces, weird hair, sweat, and all sorts of other things to deal with, but it wasn't earth-shattering. Most embarrassing moments were forgotten after a couple of years (haha).
Not that I would want to be a kid again, because I think my childhood was particularly awkward, but I'm just saying... it was simpler. :P
