So instead of sleeping I'm reliving childhood with the wonders of facebook's "if you remember this you grew up in the 90s" group and youtube.com
I mean, we're always passing those memes around about 90s stuff, and we know we all want the "old school nickelodeon" to come back...right? Right? I'd like old school Disney back, too, thanks.
But there are other odds and ends from childhood that I'd forgotten. Like this!
Down Down baby down by the roller coaster
Sweet Sweet Baby I'll never let you go
Shimmy Shimmy cocopop shimmy shimmy pow
Shimmy Shimmy cocopop shimmy shimmy pow
mama mama sick in bed she called the doctor and the doctor said
Let's get the rhythm of the feet(stomp stomp)
Let's get the rhythm of the feet(clapclap)
Let's get the rhythm of the head (ding dong)
Let's get the rhythm of the hot dog (while doing the whole pelvic roll thing)
That was the first hand song I ever learned, waaaaay back in 2nd or 3rd grade...and waaay before I ever learned the "down by the bank" hand game or "Miss Susie" or any of the others. A girl called Esther taught it to us (she had a lisp and blonde hair... I wonder whatever became of her), and she always made the "hot dog" part sound so scandalous, never able to show us without laughing. Hahaha. That's SUCH an old memory!
So I had to save that in here just 'cause it's directly connected to memories from childhood. And someday I'll now have this memory recorded to share with my children. What would we all do without groups to help us remember our childhoods? :P
...Hahaha, I should be sleeping.
