Day 3 of Hell Week: One Bright Spot Amidst the Evil

Oct 05, 2005 18:52

First order of official business: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HANNAH ENSOR! Welcome to the world of 19! (Which I pass out of in *thinks* 12 days)

Happiest Point of My Day: We got out of our Psych discussion a little early today, I walked over to the MLB. It was a beautiful, sunny day... not a cloud in the blue, blue sky, and as I walked I remembered that we have a fountain over there! Anyone who really knows me knows how geeked I get about fountains. This one is in the sunlight and has a wide ledge... it doesn't get any better than that. So I laid down, tried to read more War and Peace, and then gave it up as a futile attempt because who can read when the wonderful sun is radiating down on one's skin?? I put away my book and simply laid out in the sun for 20 mins. It was perfect. The water kept misting over my face and sandal-clad feet, and hearing the water gushing, pouring, rippling, singing was just like being near a small waterfall. At times the breeze would rush by, reminding me of being on the front of Di's boat out on Lake Huron. As I sank into the feeling, a smile on my face, it didn't feel like I was on firm ground but rather like I was rising and falling on gentle waves. I couldn't have been happier, and I could have stayed like that for hours.

If I could have stayed there longer, I would have been inspired to emit poetical effusions or written my gran obra or sung a song that created a world. It was that powerful of a moment.

I had more I wanted to say, but I'm forced to begin my Spanish paper which will rule my life for the rest of the evening, undoubtedly keeping me from writing either my Anthro paper or studying for my Pysch exam. I love life. ;_;
