Watched the SuperBowl with Eric, Phil and ... what's his name? The other Asian... Damn, moment of stupidity, but yeah, Eric's friend. Yeah, so Phil and the other guy weren't all that much into football, and it was a dang quiet first quarter...and then it was a tame second quarter. . .and then finally in the third quarter it got interesting. Eric was cheering for the Patriots, and I was apathetic since I'm not a fan one way or the other. Was pulling for Owens, though, since he was coming off of an injury. The number of mistakes...oye! Fumbles & interceptions...ack, it was ugly. And some poor throws by McNabb, too. *Wince wince* But, anyways, Patriots carried the day, 24-21. I thought Eric was going to go ape in the last couple of minutes when it was still up in the air, but then there was one final interception with, like, 9 seconds remaining and it was all over. The Lombardi trophy has gone to the Patriots again. What is that, three times in four years or something? Doesn't that put their coach in some kind of hall of fame?
Anyways, I've done my bit to be a part of Americana. Someday I'll sit down with my kids and tell them about watching the Superbowl in my dorm with my friends. Maybe next year I'll be going crazy at some party. Honestly, sitting there with Eric and Phil, I was wishing more than anything that I was either watching it with my dad ('cause I love how worked up he gets) or with Alli and all of our friends at her house.
Next weekend is the Daytona 500. That's one I can definitely stand to miss, though I know my dad will be watching it. And honestly, I hope Jeff Gordon loses.
Anyways, talking w/my bro on the phone...long convo so I'm done here. Laterz.
