Aaaaaaaah! I haven't written anything in here for a week (or more).
oh gosh,I hope this doesn't end up like my old blog. Died within a month omg.xD
Well,over the Christmas weekend,I was in Taiping for a hiking trip.= 3=
Sorry that there're no pictures! The camera's with my sister and it's almost 4 a.m.OTL
Also sorry for any typos. I'm typing with one hand. You'll see why if you read on lawl.xD
On Friday morning,I was dragged quite literally nearly kicking and screaming into the car at 6 flapping a.m. orz
But my family being themselves, there was a lot of bickering between my mum and my mum's husband because apparently we "packed too much". I seriously do not think two suitcases shared between six people is "too much" ,do you?
Well, after sorting everything out,we discovered that 3 out of the 6 bags we brought were his. And he ended up blaming mum. wth la you.OTL
Well, after mum's husband's big annoying tantrum the baggage crisis was over,it was about 8.15 when we left the house.
And the situation in the car during the 7-hour drive up to Taiping could only be summed up as "crack". I can't tell whether that guy up There has blessed or cursed me with sisters who seem to be eternally in a state of sugar high.
Along the way up to Taiping,we stopped at Pasir Salak to see the historical complex, which was closed, fortunately unfortunately. We also spotted a sign pointing to the tombs of 6 sultans. And 1 J.W.W. Birch, but the "road" was so overgrown that it was impassable neither on car nor by foot, luckily.
Well, after that it was pretty much just being on the highway blablabla fast forward to Taiping.:B
Our hotel was called JanaView golf and country club resort or something like that. We unpacked and all,and then after we all took our bath (we smelled HORRID after being cramped up in the car.D:) we went out to dinner at Teminal (no typo there, really) food court.
Let me tell you this right now, their rice portions are HUGE! Granted,we all ordered the same thing (chicken rice lawl.Oh we also had satay. Which was half KL price. And half KL size, too .xD) My plate was half covered in a mountain of rice. Now if only they would shell out more chicken and less rice, this would be a much nicer place to eat without feeling like you're gaining weight. >:
After that really really big dinner, which made us all full afterward,we went straight to the Taiping Zoo to join the queue for the night safari. <3
We waited for our turn to ride the tram for about an hour. And then when we were on board the tram we saw this big sign we didn't realize which was right behind where we joined the queue which said,"PELAWAT DIBERI PILIHAN SAMA ADA BERJALAN KAKI MELALUI LALUAN YANG DISEDIAKAN ATAU MENAIKI TREM YANG DISEDIAKAN".Bummer. :/
Well,on the tram there was a guide who would point out where exactly inside the cage the animals are, tell us a bit about the animals, etc. It was really cool. But a large part of the tour was so dark I couldn't see. Plus I lost my glasses. thank goodness I'm only far-sighted.@ w @
After that,we headed back to the hotel at around 11. And the lot of us fell asleep until 6 o'clock the next day. The three of us elder siblings had to go LAT-TA-LI-LAT-TA-LI-TAM-PLOM to see who got the shower first. Very mature of us,right?xD
It was freeeeziiiiing and the hot shower was like steamy, comfy heaven to my clogged nose and chattering teeth. I had to drag myself out of the shower so the others could get ready on time. Ah well.TvT
After we had breakfast at a mamak store we found in town,we headed off towards Maxwell Hill!
We were supposed to take the Land Rover which were for rent up the hill and back. But then the Land Rovers were rented out for the whole day by a group of uni students,so we had to hike the manual way. Which isn't very comfortable.xD
We started our hike at about 9.30 and only reached the quarter way mark at around 12.30? Which is when it started to drizzle. SO we made our way down the hill. Somehow during the hike down, the slope gave way under my feet and I slipped about 4-5 meters down? I also ended up tumbling a few meters down the gravel road for the Land Rovers. I ended up with a sprained right wrist and two skinned knees. I feel lucky for that.orz
So we reached the base of the hill at about 2.30 since we managed to hitch a ride on a Land Rover down the gravel path, which is more twisty-turny. Like a roller coaster omg~ xD
Well, after seeing a doctor and getting my wrist splinted,we went to this restaurant nearby called Restoran AssamPedas. Tucked away in a corner of north Taiping, this place served the best Malay food I've ever tasted in a restaurant. > 3<
Later that night after we cleaned up and all (and had our maggi dinner omnomnom),we headed to the bazaar in the Lake Gardens and ended up purchasing 9 handbags,6 caftans,a tin of some hair-growth mumbo jumbo for my mum's balding husband,a lot of snacks and 2 kebabs about the size of my head. Oh,and pistachios.x:
We literally crashed and burnt out that night. We woke up the next day at about 9 o'clock maybe? We packed up all our stuff and got ready and checked out at about 10. We ended up going for brunch at the Assam Pedas place again and finally left Taiping at 11.30. We ended up stopping at Kuala Kangsar for my mum's husband's futile attempt at convincing me to go to MCKK.DUDE. SERIOUSLY. IF I SAY I DON'T WANT TO GO,I'M NOT GOING. My sisters all said they'd go if they were boys. I was like "wth.= 3="
After the MCKK trip we ended up rounding the town. We originally wanted to visit the Old Palace Museum, but it was closed. Apparently they built the whole thing without nails. I'd be very scared to go into it,really.:/
We ended up going to the Sultan Azlan Shah Gallery instead. It was quite well maintained and there were quite lot of exhibits. Like the Sultan's stamp and watch collections, gifts from other royals and pictures of the Japanese royal family's visit. I kept wanting to toot this giant silver horn which was part of the music instrument exhibit.@ 3@
After that we (FINALLY) ended up on our way home. Which took about 6-7 hours. We arrived home at 7.30 p.m. after a long,LONG while in the car. And then we took our baths and had dinner, and sorted everything out.
And a few hours after that, here I am typing this report for you all to read. o 3o/
Well,I should really get going now. Since it's like 6 a.m. already.xD
ttyl~ o vo/
