Why I love Sloan.

So I took Mike to see Sloan, since Casey was sleepy. The guitar speakers on the right side of the stage were so ridiculously overpowering that we had to move from the front of the stage to the other side in the middle after 2 blaring, deafening songs. The cool part was when I stayed later to talk to Chris Murphy and he asked where I went after song number two. YES, he noticed that I moved places in the audience; this is how awesome this band is. He told me he was about to do a point and wink at me but he couldn't find me after I moved! lol. I love Sloan.

Mike decided to skip out after the show and I was hanging out for 20 minutes after they were done playing. Andrew (my favorite giant) was about to walk into the tour bus when he saw me standing on the sidewalk and walked over to say hello. Reason #2 why I love Sloan: they introduce themselves to you randomly, just to be social and friendly.

So Chris asked to read or see all of my tattoos, and after discussing things about Nova Scotia and Michigan in general, I bowed out to use the bathroom and make my escape. Yes, I actually had to make an excuse to leave because he was talking too much. I really do adore how friendly and social this band is, but I was tired and wanted to go home.

I spent $1.50 getting home. I did a lot of walking because I didn't see any buses driving past me. I am totally tired now. I have no idea how far I walked but it was a long freaking way.

edit: I just remembered I was wearing my Dischord Records shirt and he kept talking about how he liked it and we discussed Guy (whose name he pronounced correctly) from Fugazi and Rites of Spring. And Minor Threat. I give Chris major credit.

second edit: When I told Andrew that their band is something I grew up with, he asked how old I was. When I said 27, he said he thought I looked 14. More proof I'll be carded until I'm 100.
