(no subject)
I had a nice time at the rendezvous though it was smaller than last years. Saw some old folks I knew, met a few new folks. I forgot to put on sunscreen on Saturday morning and since I was out from 8:30am until sunset I am ridiculously burned. My mother will kill me when she sees me *laughs*
Thankfully, Duncan ended up liking the shirt that he had gotten. It suited him, too. I think if he had enough of them, he'd just wear them every day lol
Big blue was an amusement. Folks knew exactly where I was camped and those who met me away from my tent knew who I was by saying “You’re the one camped in the blue & black tent?” The firewood was wet because of past weather so keeping a fire going was a bit of a chore, especially since I also had to help man our traders blanket but it got done well enough. The beef & veggie soup I made Saturday night turned out pretty damn good, for a throw together dinner over a dying fire LOL
There was a wedding Saturday night. it was so sweet, I was sniffling
And there was cake/ice cream to be had afterwards! woot!!
At about 3am on Sunday morning, it started storming. The rain wasn’t all that heavy but there was a LOT of lightning & thunder. It kept raining until we were packed up and leaving around noon. Packing up in the rain is never fun, but at least it wasn’t a total downpour, just a light rain. It was cold, though. When the weather clears up, I’ll have to set up big blue so that she can dry out and not get any mold. The downsides to a canvas tent :-/ She did us good, though. No leaks during the storm
