So, I was waiting tables, and I was a kid. And yes, I'd done a crap job on this table. Slow, late, wrong order, I'd just screwed up. We've all had that day at work.
So the customers go to my manager and say "Do you have a comment card we could fill out?"
Manager says "Well, if your waiter had done a great job, would you still want one?"
Customers say "But it wasn't a great job, he was very bad."
Manager says "Yes, I understand that. But if he'd been great, the best waiter you ever had in your life, would you have come all the way over here to ask me for a comment card?"
Customers say "Well, probably not."
Manager says "Yeah. That's why we don't have any."
