SuperGrrrl, by ROSS FREAKIN' CAMPBELL!

Aug 16, 2008 19:42

With six days to go until our official debut, Jen and I are super-pleased to reveal the GORGEOUS SuperGrrrl Adventure Comix #1 cover art, drawn by the brilliantly talented Ross Campbell!

Ross is one of our favorite artists, and one of a small handful whose work heavily informed the look and feel we're shooting for in SuperGrrrl. We are totally honored and a bit awed to have his art on the cover of our first issue. If you're not familiar with his work, please go buy Wet Moon vol. 1-3, Hopeless Savages, Mountain Girl, The Abandoned, Water Baby, most White Wolf Exalted sourcebooks, and pretty much any comic with really awesome, gritty, multiracial punk girls with a wide range of bodies and builds who look like they could rip your throat out with their teeth (Except for Grrrl Scouts, which is actually by Jim Mahfood, Baker Street, which is by Guy Davis, and Street Angel which is by Jim Rugg and Brian Maruca. But still--most of 'em).

THANK YOU, ROSS!!!!!!!

In related news, I have been bouncing around my apartment making little squeaky noises and repeating the phrases "Jen's coming!" and "Ross Campbell cover art!"
