okay guys, guess why my left arm is killing me
...
*thinking music for you*
...
no takers?
righto, I'll tell you.
tis cos it got stuck between me and the bridge when I went bridge swinging last night. so it's a good reason, hoorah!! twas such fun.
basically Paul [3rd yr Parks/Eco guy, loves this kind of stuff] attached a long rope to a point between the supports of a bridge and tied it off closer to one of the supports so it was taut. one at a time, we [ie Rahm, me, Lachie, Bron then Dave] climbed over the railings to this thing I don't know the name of that we sat on ....did all the safety stuff and he talkd us through what'd hapn. then he lowered us below the thing I don't know the name of and let go!! the bridge's 25m up so with a 5m safety margin we got an 18m swing. when you'r almost finishd swinging you detach another rope from yourself and chuck it to the guys on the shore so you can abseil to the ground and they can pull you to shore.
we left Noorla around 9 and didn't get back til after 3 .....the original rigging and then the resets took ages so it was a long night but totes worth it. I went out there with them last Sunday night but only 3 ppl got to do it cos we were all freezing and hungry and tired and couldn't b bothered waiting around for a turn.
mm so that's my interesting story for the week.
actually, there is another one that would'v been interesting if it had'v been what I thought it was but it wasn't. yep, coded.
ps- I wrote this when I woke up this morning but turns out the internet was down so I couldn't post it then
pain,
bridge jumping,
fun
