Isn't it funny how horoscopes only work when you twist them around in your head to make them seem like they really happen? When I look at horoscopes in the morning, which is rare, but when I do, the day usually turns out the way they say. Is that because I subconsciously do what they say will happen? Well, I just looked at my horoscope tonight for today, and it isn't at all what happened. It didn't say anything important that happened to me today, and it added lots of stuff that I wouldn't have even done ever in my life.
And that is the reason I am choosing to not believe in astrology, not even an inkling.
There's this fun game called "Hearts of Iron" and it's a World War II strategy game. It's really fun and it takes a lot of skill to play it. Well, I'm playing as Germany, and I managed to conquer 95% of Europe in one year--five years before Hitler managed to conquer about 75% of Europe. I plan to conquer the world and thus win unmercifully.
Today was sort of fun, sort of crap. I woke up and played with my dog, did laundry, did dishes, played the piano, took a shower, and went to a Blast soccer game with Sarah. The game was kind of fun, besides the fact that Sarah and I switched seats every quarter to a completely different part of the stadium, lol. We spent an entire quarter waiting in line for popcorn, soda, and french fries, but hey, we got to eat, so who cares how long it took?
Yesterday was even funner. I woke up feeling a little tired, but energized for the day. Got ready for school, went to school, and after school hung around there. Then, Sarah, Rachel, Nicole, and I went to Borders and next to the library. At Borders, I bought "Il Trovatore" the dvd (performed in Australia) and got out a book about death in Judaism from the library. On the way back, we stopped by McDonalds and ate. Once back at school, we wandered around and finally settled down in coffee house to hear the cool people read poetry and other fun literary stuff. After coffee house, Sarah and I walked to Towson Diner with Rachel Ellis, Rachel (don't know last name), Jessica Reinstein, and Sharon (don't know last name). It surely was an interesting walk, however short, yet fun. Finally, I got home I guess close to eleven or twelve, and watched the dvd. The singing was good, audio sucked, and casting even worse. Leonora was an old woman (Joan Sutherland for those of you who recognize popular opera singers), and Manrico was not in the least bit handsome, as I was sort of expecting from his role. Sutherland is no Gheorghiu. I did like the baritone who played Conte better than Thomas Hampson, I must admit. I forget his name right now, but just imagine someone better than Thomas Hampson. The music dragged on so slowly I wanted to go into the T.V. and take the baton for myself. I must say I adore the CD much more. But, it's good that I got to see the opera actually performed again, because I really like it. Out of a lot of the operas we've seen, this is one of my favorites. After that, I went online, and capped off my day with a fun playing of "Hearts of Iron." I was so tired, so I did what all tired people do (wanna take a guess?).
This week was very tiring. Thursday night we went to see Carmen at the Lyric and before that to Petit Louis to eat the best omelette I've ever eaten in my life (I'm not kidding or joking around. It was seriously the best. Although, I've never had artichokes with eggs before.). Wednesday was Center Stage and OMT, and Tuesday was French Club. Monday we stayed after school for the opera prep. It was good to finally get a lot of sleep last night.
If anybody is bored enough to actually have read this far in my journal entry about nothing, maybe he or she can answer a question for me. Just respond and I'll ask.
