So, I'm walking out of the door of my office today @ 2:00pm to start my four-day weekend and my boss comes right out after me asking if I'm leaving...and of course I say yeah and Merry Christmas...and he says to me, "Well, I was gonna tell you Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays but I didn't know you were Jewish so that would probably be saying too ( Read more... )

No, actually it's kind of a stupid inside joke...my boss's nephew worked at my agency for about 9 months or so before he moved back down to Texas to be an "unofficial" assistant coach for the Texas Tech football team...anyway, Steve shared a cubicle with me during the majority of his employment at my agency, and let's just say that we got along *too* well...namely that the way we argued with eachother that other people around us told us that we sounded like we were married. Anyway, at some point Steve had started telling me that I sounded like a "Jewish princess"...I have no idea why. So to keep the joke going, he told people that I'd worked with for years that I was Jewish. Apparently his uncle, my boss, also thought the joke was funny.

Steve and I always had kind of an odd relationship. Honestly...if it wasn't for the fact that he had just gotten engaged to his girlfriend back in Texas before we got to know eachother, we would have wound up dating eachother. There was always this really weird sexual tension between the two of us...but since I'm not that kind of girl, I'm kind of glad that he moved back to Texas when he did.

If I'm spoiled, it's only because I spoil myself. I've never relied on anyone else's money but my own. I buy my own diamond rings, my own cars, my own Raptor bags...you get the idea.

Steve just has an odd sense of humor, really.
