So I took off from life for a while.
I took off from work on Friday. My boss's boss was NOT happy and glared at me as I left Thursday. But guess what, I needed time, so I was damn well going to take it. And if that means that I get fired, then so be it. I will search for a new job. I don't like that prospect but that's how life goes.
At 10pm on Friday night I called out of skiing as well...for the whole weekend.
I realize this is very unlike me to call out of skiing but I needed it. I needed some free time. I needed some time to think, or not, as it were.
So Friday I spent sleeping in (only 9am for me) and eating and checking some mail for work. Not much to it, but what I needed. At night I went running for the first time in months. I am starting my running training for National Academy in April. When I can run straight for 30-45 mins I will be pretty okay to handle the rigors of skiing all day, or doing over 1000 ft of of vertical in one shot. Of course I started convincing myself I needed to go running at around 4:30 I finally lost the internal battle and changed into my running gear around 7pm. it actually helped. Endorphins make for happy.
Saturday I got up and decided I wanted to work. That didn't last very long. At 11:30 I decided I needed new jeans as I'd shredded 3 pair in the last month. So I picked up Leenie and went to Tyson's mall, which is awesome. They have every store I want. We went to Ann Taylor first but Aaron met us at Lane Bryant and was an exceptional male.
"That makes you look really svelt"
"Wow, 2 hot girls in one place."
It was good times.
After that we went to lunch at TGI Fridays. I didn't know it was possible to ruin a salad but they managed to absolutely kill their pecan chicken salad. It was like there was a party in my mouth and everyone was dead.
After that I got my hair cut. Theresa cut it all off. She must have taken at least 4 or 5 inches. It looks adorable now though. I will definitely be going back to her. Afterwards I visited Lush and picked up my favorite bath products.
Following that we went to 27 Dresses. It was a cute idea for a movie. Bad execution though....it made me want to hurt people. 3/4 of the movie is spent going "aww!" and "nooo!" because you get angry at the bad luck this poor woman has. Aaron, Leenie and I were quite angry.
Finally we hit up Old Navy and left despite my pining to go to Levenger, Banana Republic, Jessica McClintoc, and EVERYWHERE else. Dear lord I love this mall. I NEEEEED to go back...and I don't even like shopping!
The day ended with Pizza and the movie "All of Me" with Steve Martin and Lilly Tomlin. It was really rather annoying.
Sunday I enjoyed one of my new outfits and my haircut by walking around Georgetown. Of course I made my way to Dean and Deluca and bought way too much food. But hey, I can get foie gras and french cheese there. Come now...it's like heaven for me.
On the way home I was called by an old friend of mine who mentioned that I have a "classic Bunny scowl" all the time. I thought I was squinting against the sun...and I thought I smiled at the woman who wanted my parking space but apparently I glared at her. I really need to work on this apparently. I don't want to be seen as scowling all the time.
Afterwards I came home, ate and slept.
So there, a whole weekend with nothing bad happening. I know I've probably just jinxed myself but I just wanted to share with everyone my pleasant weekend. It was really nice.
Oh also, a couple notes: The superbowl is boring (my Bears aren't playing), Tom Petty has lost a lot of his stage presence, the commercials this year are lackluster, and check out the new band I'm toying with in my "music I'm listening to" bubble on this entry. It's a kind of Jazz-electronica...but it's really good. It makes you kind of want to twirl.
ALL MY BEST!
